Mailbox Information

Maintaining the uniformity of mailboxes throughout Snee Farm is very important. This enhances the curb appeal of our overall community; and, by having the Snee Farm logo etched into the mailbox support structure it also establishes a signature for Snee Farm as a masterplanned neighborhood.

The Architectural Control Committee has established criteria and standards for the design, fabrication, installation and ongoing maintenance of mailboxes throughout Snee Farm, to include:

  1. Standardization of the design for the mailbox support structure and mailbox style
  2. Standardization of materials for mailbox support structure
  3. Standardization of the paint color for the mailbox support structure and mailbox
  4. Standardization of the material that is used to create the street numbers on the mailbox
  5. Standardization of the installed height for the mailbox support structure and mailbox

The material that is used to create the street address numbers on the mailbox support structure isn't paint. It is a process that uses fine glass beads and should be installed by a professional installer.

On-going maintenance and repair of the mailbox support structure and mailbox are critical for the long-term appearance and life. The Restrictions Compliance Administer will monitor the condition of mailbox structures and mailboxes for the following:

  1. Installed, mailboxes must be kept in a good state of repair and appearance as well as being kept level and plumb / straight.
  2. Plants growing on the supports must be pruned to ensure the numbers are clearly visible to emergency vehicles.
  3. The door on the mailbox must be kept accessible in order that the postal carriers are able to deliver the mail easily from their delivery vehicles.
  4. The mailbox door and the pickup flag must operate easily and the door must close securely.

Dr. Ely Brooks, a long-term resident of Snee Farm, has provided mailbox installation, repair and maintenance services to Snee Farm residents for several years. He also maintains the street signs and signage in all common areas for the Snee Farm Community Foundation.

A valuable component of his service is to visit with the property owner to evaluate the condition of their mailbox structure and mailbox; discuss a recommended scope of work; and, provide the property owner with a price to perform the agreed-to scope of work.

Other repairs or maintenance will be priced and performed based on an on-site inspection of the work requested / required.
Applying reflective material to existing numbers is not a satisfactory solution.
The reflective material is not paint. It is a process that uses fine glass beads and should be applied by a professional installer.
